There would be something very wrong if the 80s DJ didnt play the late Whitney Houston Dance party Classic and did play the firms Star Trekking instead. The dance techno music (especially the 12 inch b sides) on of the pet shop boys was becoming evermore popular and they had one of their two number ones of 1987 with 'Its a Sin'. Madonna also had two number ones in 87, her second was another track taken from a film. The film and track were both 'who's that girl'. Other music from 1987 was later used in films so we will only mention La Bamba which was taken from La bamba a film about Ritchie Valens. Ritchie was a 18 year old 50s teen idol who died in the same plane crash as the Big Bopper and Buddy Holly. At the end of August Stock, Aitkin and Waterman attacked the charts with Rick Astleys never gonna give you up. Ricks mighty hold on pole position was so great its was October before MARS got their foot in the door. This track was made by sampling other tracks and the back bone of it was used on a Cybil's My Love Is Garmented in 1986, but DJs wanting more techno house beats for the disco dancing public played the instrumental flip side instead.
